In furtherance of this objective, the Legal Education Programs Department designs and implements world-class programs in on-online education, in live, custom designed and open enrollment programs (on-site and virtual) for practitioners, executives, undergraduates, high school students, and others; and via Penn Carey Law’s active continuing legal education (CLE) and continuing judicial education (CJE) programs.

Required Duties

The GSE LEP Intern will serve as an integral part of the team and help support a variety of tasks involved with the development, planning, and delivery of LEP’s live, custom-designed and open enrollment programs, including:

Program Planning, Management, and Delivery

Assist the Associate Director with tasks involved with the planning and delivery of all LEP’s live, custom and open enrollment programs and events, ranging from one-day workshops for judges to longer-duration executive education and high school programs. Tasks include, but are not limited to, assisting with all aspects of program preparation and delivery (virtual or in-person); enrollment management; creation of event checklists and program guides; design and development of Canvas sites; collaboration with the Associate Director, academic directors, and faculty surrounding the organization of program curricula and materials; and, developing mechanisms for receiving feedback and preparing reports.

Strategic Planning

To inform program development, marketing efforts, and enrollment strategy, LEP uses data from web traffic, advertisement performance, participant surveys, as well as research on peer programs. The GSE LEP Intern will assist with this research by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant data and reporting findings to the team. Additionally, the GSE intern may be called on to share findings with various Penn Carey Law community partners.

Preferred Qualification and Essential Skills

  • The ideal candidate will be an individual interested in gaining experience with non-traditional educational training programs with strong attention to detail, exceptional writing, critical thinking, organizational, and event planning and/or administrative skills. 
  • One (+) years of direct work experience with the development, planning, management, and/or delivery of programs and events is preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn other platforms, including Qualtrics, MailChimp, and Cvent/SalesForce. 
  • Quick learner, demonstrates initiative, and can manage a variety of tasks in multiple areas with minimal supervision.
